Word initiation comes from initiare "originate, initiate," from initium "a beginning”, and that’s exactly what an initiation is, a new beginning.

This phase of The Descension Cycle can often come as a shock. It can feel as if we’ve been forced out of an old life and thrust into a death and rebirth cycle without much say or control in the matter. It is a turning point. The spark that lights the fire and ignites big changes in your life.

Things that can often spark an initiation are a breakup, divorce, death, birth, career change, injury, diagnosis, marriage, moving and other big and often unexpected life events.

It’s common to feel in shock, overwhelmed, afraid, confused, anxious, untethered, angry, unsure, and like the rug has been pulled out from under you.

This initiation has happened because your soul knows it’s time for a change. It is time to begin the journey from an old life, to a new one. And as it is with all change, it can make us feel incredibly uncomfortable as we what we once knew as familiar begins to crumble.
